This will be done with judgement, if a company commander just decides to tell the entire company they are restricted, they can do that. However they better have a reason or the battalion or brigade commanders will quickly stop it. Technically, you are on duty 24/7. On the weekend you are technically on pass even though unless you go outside a radius you don't fill out a DA31. So a commander can restrict that pass the same as how he approves or dissaproves your leave. I have always loved Japan and thought this would be a way to stay there for a while.
