From Google News Search: "Military life" How do you know if the military life is for you? Q. my boyfriend is in the air force and we have been together for awhile. I never sat down to think of what this could mean. We could (and most likely will) end up getting married, but I will have to be worried about him being deployed or re-stationed. I have lived in the state I currently reside my whole life and my family is here as well. Has anyone been through this either you personally are in the military or your spouse is? How do you cope? well we already live together. we live off base. and i'm definitely proud of him :) and everyone else that serves & protects our wonderful country. The good news is there's a support network for you and your husband to fall back on, no matter what comes his way. Most Air Force bases have an Officers Wives Club and an Enlisted Wives Club, and if you were to marry your boyfriend you'd also meet the spouses of other military members, many of whom are in the same boat you are -- living far from home, not used to living on a military installation, etc. So you'll find a lot of people that you can identify with, and the vast majority of Air Force spouses (not to mention active duty Air Force members) are very nice, personable people. The Air Force goes a long way to make spouses feel welcome and "included"… [cont.] Answered by sarge927 - Tue Feb 17 15:28:50 2009 What exactly is military life like (Marine Corps)? Q. I'm leaving January 4th (depped in may 1st, dont ask why so long) and i cant get a definitive answer as to what military life is like. My MOS is not combat related so i know i wont be waking up every morning running hills, etc. To be honest, my MOS is in communications, desk work to be exact. If i had to relate to something, is it like college life but with more rules? Asked by Daniel - Fri Sep 11 23:55:13 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. My husband's MOS is also in communications, and he is currently a gunner in Iraq. Answered by Sonja M. - Sat Sep 12 01:18:30 2009 How is military life? Money,benefits,living...e tc. Q. Was joining the best decision you ever made? How has the military shaped your current life, for better or worse? Asked by Bruce K - Wed Mar 18 04:41:05 2009 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments A. Well, Army life is different. I was a Navy brat and Active duty Navy, but being married to a soldier has it challenges. I feel that the military better me for the long run. I go to school, I have veteran's preference within the DOD system as a civilian, and had great time! I think the Air Force and Navy have a better quality of life and Marines and Soldiers are roughing it. When you are having to sleep 4 deep and using open showers! Ugh! The sailors aboard ship have it rough too! I was just extremely lucky to never have served on a ship, I served for 8 years! Oh! Ombudsmen in the Navy are a wonderful asset for you and your family. Where the Army have FRG, family readiness group, which is a very interesting dynamic.
